The actuality of holding «Kiev Technical Trade Show 2007»
Within the conditions of general economic growth the Ukrainian industrial enterprises of the machine building, metallurgic, electric and technical, transportation, oil and gas as well as construction branches need new technologic solutions, more efficient equipment and progressive materials in the fields of welding, wire and cable production and metal surface processing. Thus the multifaceted combination of topics within «Kiev Technical Trade Show 2007» will make possible for the companies of various specializations to establish partnerships, conclude mutually beneficial contracts and learn about the novelties in the adjoining industries.

Successful First Visit by IWMA to Cabling/Wiring

Following an invitation from exhibition organisers TDS Expo and conference organisers METIZ magazine the IWMA executive secretary participated at both events.
On a booth shared with Eurowire magazine, the IWMA recruited two new member companies with a further three commitments to join. |

Detailed discussions were held with one of the new member companies, Prommetiz, with regard to the development of a strong associate membership sector in the Ukraine. This is seen as a very important goal for the Ukrainian steel wire industry as it seeks to improve its technology and efficiency to compete in global markets.
Despite the very cold weather in Kiev, which had come earlier than expected, the exhibition was well attended and a number of important wire organisations were exhibiting. It served a useful purpose in raising the profile of the IWMA in the region.
Another useful promotional opportunity for the Association came at the accompanying two-day steel wire conference organised by METIZ magazine. Executive secretary Phillip Knight gave a twenty-minute presentation about the IWMA to a conference audience of sixty representatives from the Ukrainian industry and made some useful contacts in the process.
As a result of the co-operation with METIZ magazine, and with the agreement of the co-organisers ACIMAF and the WAI, the publication will help to promote the forthcoming Wire 07 Bologna technical conference that will take place from 5-7 November 2007.
